VTI’s New Arbitrary Waveform Generation (AWG) Modules

VTI Instruments Corporation is pleased to announce the release of its latest high-performance arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) modules, the EX1200-3604 and EX1200-3608. These versatile modules continue to enhance the functionality and capabilities of VTI’s LXI Class A EX1200 Precision Switch, Measure and I/O product series.
"The EX1200-3608 is ideal for generating a wide range of static voltage and current output signals or complex dynamic waveforms," said Jon Semancik, VTI’s Director of Marketing. "This capability makes it an ideal solution for challenging defense, aerospace and automotive applications that require the simulation of precision signals and sensor outputs."
The EX1200-3608 and EX1200-3604 provide eight or four independent channels of isolated digital to analog converter (DAC) capability with 16 bits of resolution. Each channel is true-differential and has sense lines that can be used to compensate for voltage drops that occur over the length of test system cabling between the DAC output and the device under test. Additionally, these modules have multiple programmable ranges and are capable of generating up to ±20 V or sourcing 20 mA per channel. Channels can be combined to provide system level performance of up to 160 V or 160 mA in static or dynamic mode.
Each channel is capable of generating waveform patterns at an update rate of 500 kSa/s and can be configured for synchronous or asynchronous operation, with thousands of unique patterns and segments. Extensive triggering simplifies test configuration and enables sequencing of the AWG outputs with input measurements. As part of the EX1200 family, the modules can be combined with other high-performance I/O such as a 6.5 digit DMM, and signal switches from DC to 26.5 GHz, to deliver a powerful, configurable instrument for electronic test in 1 U of rack space.
