VTI Instruments’ products are used to test the most complex systems in the world.
Traditionally, instrumentation life cycles rarely extend over 15 years, unless corporations
are committed to continuously upgrade the product family. However, test stations
are normally required to have greater lives. Customers worldwide come to VTI because
we have a proven history of supplying products whose life cycles outlive that of
the products they are designed to test.
We are committed to phasing out component obsolescence, utilizing continuous product
engineering. This approach enables us not only to enhance products, but also to
considerably extend their production life and support cycle. All enhancements and
redesigns are focused to ensure backward compatibility in software and hardware,
so as not to affect our customers’ solutions eliminating the need for costly system
redesign. This expertise is utilized extensively by our military customers who require
support of up to 20 years for testing products, such as avionics on the JSF (F35)
aircraft, or even standard US Navy systems like the Reconfigurable, Transportable
CASS testers (RT-CASS).
Product Upgrade Plans
In certain cases, vendors have obsolete hardware leaving customers facing potential
redesign. VTI has successfully upgraded older hardware for many customers, and in
all cases saved the customer considerable re-engineering, and system cost.
Our experience and product depth combine to provide customers with legacy test systems
that utilize obsolete hardware, with a low-risk, cost-effective upgrade path.
