Completing structural tests is one of the most critical tasks in the entire design process of large-scale structures such as aircraft, satellites, wind turbine blades, landing gear, and more.

Leveraging the EX1629 strain gauge measurement instrument and the EXLab turn-key DAQ software, engineers are able to quickly set up their test system and configure it from 100’s, to 1000’s of channels.

Built-in signal conditioning, programmable excitation and selectable bridge completion integrated into this unit allow the user to simply plug in the transducer and start making measurements.

This case study showcases how engineers can use the EX1629 and EXLab to quickly create highly precise, yet distributed strain and fatigue test systems.

When a global supplier of Electronic Control Units needed a switch/measure solution for a new design validation test system, they turned to VTI to satisfy the need of a deterministic architecture to support fast test cycle times. They sought a supplier with significant experience in constructing switching systems as well as analog proficiency for signal conditioning, and data acquisition. VTI used its expertise in designing analog measurement systems to provide more than just switching modules.
