Overview

The VT3240A and VT3241A allow flexible input mounting for the VT1432B/33B Digitizers with DSP. The VT3240A 8-channel Voltage Breakout Box (BoB) provides eight BNC input connectors on two cables that connect to the front panel sub-miniature “D” connectors of the digitizer modules. Each of the cables carries four channels.

The VT3241A has the same physical properties of the VT3240A, but with additional functionality. Each of the eight BNC connectors of the VT3241A is also connected to an independent, floating current source. These are intended to power integrated-electronics circuit piezo-electric (IEPE) transducers. They supply 4.5 mA (nominal) at up to 28 volts. The current sources are controllable by software in groups of four. This allows current sources for connectors 1-4 to be turned on or off as a group, as well as current sources for connectors 5-8.

Rack mount options offer convenient rackmounting configurations for 16 to 1024 channels.These two break out boxes are not required with the VT1435/VT1436 dynamic signal analyzers as they have built-in SMB connectors with an internal IEPE current source. If BNC connections are required for these digitizers, mating cables can be ordered.
