Position: Field Application Engineer
Location: Irvine, California
Position Objective:
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) serves in the primary role of pre-sales technical support for VTI Products, solutions and services. He/she will also act as a technical interface to our national / international distributors and customers for application related consultancy. The FAE will work closely with the regional managers for each territory, and will assist as needed to increase the sales funnel and close sales opportunities. As the nominated technical interface, the FAE will be responsible for coordinating technical activities with the distributors and internal VTI resources as well as being available to conduct seminars and first level training on the complete product range.
The FAE shall become the primary technical interface to prospective and current customers for the evaluation and implementation of VTI products, applications, presentations, pre-sales demos, providing technical solutions, seminars and trade shows.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide pre-sales technical support for customer base
2. Provide regional and technical assistance needed to win strategic opportunities as determined by the regional manager and marketing team
3. Prepare and demonstrate Proof of concept demonstrations
4. Provide technical consultation & system configuration help to inside sales team, and customers
5. Develop and conduct product and application presentations and technical training sessions for distributors
6. Write application notes, FAQs, white papers and other technical documentation
7. Help marketing team to analyze competitive products and solutions
8. Participate in industry events, trade shows, and seminars
9. Work closely with VTI distribution channels, establish direct relationships with sales reps in order to gain mindshare for VTI.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of technical experience preferably in the Test & Measurement industry.
• General understanding of various instrumentation technologies, including VXI, LXI, PXI, cPCI, GPIB etc.
• Experience in developing applications in various graphical and text based languages, including C, C++, C#, VB, LabVIEW, etc. Knowledge on Matlab will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of Test & Measurement software concepts including VISA, IVI, Instrument Drivers etc.
• Understanding of Automated Testing Equipment (ATE), and other bench-top functional test instrumentation (DMMs, Counters, Switching, Digitizers, TPS, Mass-interface-connectors, etc)
• Understanding of Time domain, frequency domain data acquisition systems, and associated sensor technologies etc.
• Ability to schedule, prepare and conduct presentations, seminars and training to groups
• Ability to communicate well, and maintain relationship with executives of Channel partners and major customers
• Effective technical communicator and presenter
• Fluent (written and spoken) in English
Travel:
25 – 50% travel is possible.

Senior Software Engineer
Job Description :
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, document, develop, and test Linux and Windows software
• Work closely with hardware engineers for end to end integration of products
• Unit testing of developed software
• Participate in design reviews, software process development activities
• Participate in a compliance driven culture within the engineering team
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering education with 3+ years experience in firmware design for embedded Linux
• Trained in structured software design, documentation, coding standards and source code / configuration management.
• Strong knowledge of C, C++
• Strong knowledge of Linux device drivers and multi-threaded applications
• Working knowledge of network programming
• Recent hands-on experience in a hardware / software co-design environment
• Experience using in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and background debug monitors
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
DESIRABLE
• Experience with OO language such as C#, Java, Python
• Experience writing host drivers for instrumentation products

Senior FPGA Design Engineer
Job Description :
SENIOR FPGA DESIGN ENGINEER – Design, document and develop FPGA code and perform verification of designs by developing test plans, testing prototypes and generating test documentation to show compliance to design specifications. Work with production and test groups to guarantee manufacturability and the quality of the final product. Utilize knowledge of PXle/LXI systems and knowledge of programmable logic design including Verilog/VHDL, synthesis, simulation and verification, model-based design with Matlab/Simulink targeting FPGA’s, experience implementing advanced DSP algorithms in FPGAs and experience interfacing with high speed switched serial interconnects like PCIr, SRIO, Aurora, DDR2/3 and other standard peripherals. Design analog and digital circuits for test instrumentation for forms factors such as XMC, PMC, PXle, cPCIe using CAD tools taking into consideration mechanical, software, testing, cost, performance and manufacturing constraints. Design, document and develop FPGA code using Xilinx EDK. Design and implement signal processing algorithms in FPGA using System Generator and Matlab/Simulink. Test and troubleshoot circuits to verify they meet performance requirements. Document design, calibration, test and assembly concepts. Work with other disciplines to accomplish optimal designs. Support other design engineers, manufacturing, customer service, quality and marketing with technical related issues. Research and develop digital/analog engineering techniques and approaches as needed. Participate on multi-discipline concurrent development and corrective action teams. Prepare, review and approve the documentation required to define and control products. Prepare design and cost proposals. Lead of support design reviews, both customer and internal as required. Coordinate and support the prototype manufacturing of products. Create and implement test plans and procedures for products based on product requirements and customer specification. Perform and/or monitor testing and analyze test results to verify performance of the prototype to customer and design specifications.
